Manager – Lorraine Marshall

I have over 45 years’ experience working with people who have a learning disability, the last 30 year’s as manager at Valdigarth Residential Care Home.

I have a level 5 in Management and Care and keep myself up to date with all mandatory qualifications and anything else I feel is relevant for the benefit of the home.

I consider myself to be a professional yet approachable person and have a good relationship with both service users and their families.

Deputy Manager – Hazel Long

I have worked at Valdigarth for over 16 years. I started as a Carer, and after 6 years, I successfully completed my NVQ level 5 in management, and accepted the role of Deputy Manager. I am currently up to date with all mandatory training.

I consider myself to be professional, approachable, and caring to both staff and residents, and feel I have a built up a good rapport with families and other professionals.

At Valdigarth we strive to give the highest level of care, and I am committed to helping residents to integrate into the local community and live their lives to their fullest potential, considering their individual wishes, needs and wellbeing.

Experience and expertise

We have a close knit team of nine care staff in addition to our mangers Lorraine and Hazel. All of who come from the local community and bring differing and diverse skills to he home. Valdigarth recognises the importance of staff training and development and staff receive a detailed induction programme and then undertake a NVQ qualification.

We offer a structured programme which includes all mandatory training and also includes the following:-
